So, as we should have done years ago, now that Laura and I are moving again, we've started The Purge©. What this means, is we have a lot of clothes that are going to be donated to Good Will / Salvation Army. We also have a lot of books that we either have doubles of, or we have never read them and never will, etc. So, we have boxes, and bags, and piles of books we do not want or need, and need to get rid of. Figure we'll either drop them off at the library, or something to that effect.

Also, I have to part with some of my stuffed animals. Children's hospital for those, I think.

I do not know why, but this makes me chuckle.

GenCon 2008, while not as fun as the previous two years, was still quite a good time. Wizards booth was oddly small, Blizzard was not there, but still, I had a good time, other than a bum ankle. I got free stuff, got to see a preview of the kickass game coming out, Dragon Age: Origins. It's the "spiritual successor" to the old, original Baldur's Gate games. I can't wait for that. Saw a lot of random stuff I wish I had moneys for. Found a new RPG that looks good, that my friend picked up. It's called Low Life, and it's based off of the Savage Worlds game. Can't wait to try that. Spent a lot of time oooh'ing and ahhh'ing over very lovely artwork. And chainmail bikinis.

Too much to remember. Let's just say it was a blaaaaaast.

A very good friend of mine, and some of his friends, won a contest a year or two ago. This contest was for young coders/programmers/etc to give them a chance to pitch their idea, then if they win, to make it happen.

So they won the contest then, and now, they've got their service up and going online. It's a place to, as far as I can tell (since I just got my beta invite), to merge all of the social pages (myspace, digg, delicious, flickr, livejournal, etc) all into one place.

It's called socialthing!

Though I didn't post about it, I finally solved the problem of Vista not wanting to properly use all 8gb of ram I had. After trying a myriad of different things, someone finally shed light on the subject. It was not Vista at fault, or having too much ram. Rather, Intel was at fault for fubaring their bios updates. So, after a rollback to a bios that works, my pc works 100% perfectly.

Oh how I love thee, quadcore and ram. :D
